  • ACTI PH Minus 7KG £22.00

    ACTI PH Minus 7KG.

    Genuine ACTI product.

pH Minus Powder. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14 and measures the acidity or alkalinity of the water. A pH of less than 7 means the water is acidic, a reading above 7 means the water is alkaline and a pH of 7 is neutral. Ideally the pH for swimming pools is between 7.2 and 7.6. Having the water slightly alkaline means that the pool is more comfortable for swimmers and the equipment is protected from the corrosive water. The effects of a high pH level (too alkaline) means the water can become cloudy, swimmers skin can become dry, chlorine becomes less effective and scale can form.

“Soda ash,” commonly referred to as pH Plus, is an essential chemical used to raise and balance the pH levels in swimming pool and hot tub water. This product has several key functions and benefits for water maintenance:

    Key Features:

    1. pH Adjustment: pH Plus, or soda ash, is employed to increase the pH level in pool and hot tub water. This is important because the pH of the water can fluctuate due to various factors, including chemical treatment and bather load.

Benefits of Using pH Plus (Soda Ash):

    1. Water Clarity: Adjusting the pH levels with pH Plus contributes to improved water clarity. Maintaining the right pH range helps prevent cloudiness and ensures the water remains sparkling and clear.
    2. Equipment Protection: Proper pH balance is crucial to protect the equipment and components of the pool or hot tub. Maintaining the pH within the recommended range helps prevent corrosion and extends the lifespan of pool and spa equipment.
    3. Ideal pH Range: The recommended pH range for swimming pool and hot tub water is typically between 7.2 and 7.6. This range ensures the comfort of swimmers and efficient use of water treatment chemicals.

    Balancing pH Levels:

    • If the pH level falls below 7.2, it’s essential to use pH Plus to raise it within the ideal range.
    • Conversely, if the pH level rises above 7.6, pH Minus is used to lower it to the desired range.

By using pH Plus, also known as soda ash, as part of your pool and hot tub maintenance routine, you can ensure that the water remains clear, comfortable, and safe for swimmers while protecting the equipment from potential damage caused by imbalanced pH levels. Proper pH management is a critical aspect of water chemistry control and maintenance in pools and hot tubs.
